Assignment Problems Notice
Please do not email me to get solutions and/or answers to these problems. I will not give them out under any circumstances nor will I respond to any requests to do so. The intent of these problems is for instructors to use them for assignments and having solutions/answers easily available defeats that purpose.

### Section 3-1 : Graphing

For problems 1 – 7 construct a table of at least 4 ordered pairs of points on the graph of the equation and use the ordered pairs from the table to sketch the graph of the equation.

1. $$\displaystyle y = \frac{1}{2}x + \frac{3}{2}$$
2. $$y = 4 - x$$
3. $$y = 3{x^2}$$
4. $$y = {\left( {x + 3} \right)^2}$$
5. $$y = \sqrt {x + 2}$$
6. $$y = \left| x \right|$$
7. $$y = {x^3}$$

For problems 8 – 18 determine the x-intercepts and y-intercepts for the equation. Do not sketch the graph.

1. $$\displaystyle y = \frac{7}{3}x + 2$$
2. $$6y + 11x = - 2$$
3. $$y = 10{x^2}$$
4. $$y = {x^2} - 10x + 25$$
5. $$y = 16{x^2} - 8x + 17$$
6. $$y = - {x^2} - 25x - 24$$
7. $$y = 2{x^2} - 6x + 7$$
8. $$y = - 4{x^2} - 3$$
9. $$y = 6{x^3} + 48$$
10. $$y = \left| {x + 4} \right| - 7$$
11. $$y = 4 - \sqrt {x - 2}$$
