### Section 2-6 : Quadratic Equations - Part II

For problems 1 – 3 complete the square.

1. $${x^2} + 8x$$ Solution
2. $${u^2} - 11u$$ Solution
3. $$2{z^2} - 12z$$ Solution

For problems 4 – 8 solve the quadratic equation by completing the square.

1. $${t^2} - 10t + 34 = 0$$ Solution
2. $${v^2} + 8v - 9 = 0$$ Solution
3. $${x^2} + 9x + 16 = 0$$ Solution
4. $$4{u^2} - 8u + 5 = 0$$ Solution
5. $$2{x^2} + 5x + 3 = 0$$ Solution

For problems 9 – 13 use the quadratic formula to solve the quadratic equation.

1. $${x^2} - 6x + 4 = 0$$ Solution
2. $$9{w^2} - 6w = 101$$ Solution
3. $$8{u^2} + 5u + 70 = 5 - 7u$$ Solution
4. $$169 - 20t + 4{t^2} = 0$$ Solution
5. $$2{z^2} + z - 72 = {z^2} - 2z + 58$$ Solution
