Section 2.10 : Equations with Radicals

Solve each of the following equations.

  1. \(x = \sqrt {4x - 3} \)
  2. \(2x = - \sqrt {3 - x} \)
  3. \(4 - \sqrt {x + 6} = - x\)
  4. \(x + 3 = \sqrt {11\left( {x + 3} \right)} \)
  5. \(x = 8 + \sqrt {22 - 3x} \)
  6. \(2 - x = \sqrt {8 - 7x} \)
  7. \(\sqrt {1 + 3x} = 4 + \sqrt {5 - x} \)
  8. \(\sqrt {x - 3} + \sqrt {x + 1} = 2\)
